Daniel Maier-Reimer’s Journey Biebrza 2025 as Presented by Anna Schapiro

Daniel Maier-Reimer's artistic practice consists of long hikes, some of which last weeks or months. On these hikes, he exposes himself to the landscape. At the end of each journey, stands one photograph. Daniel Maier-Reimer invites colleagues to present his journey
within their work and context of their own specific working methods – in the format called: Presented by, to which he also invited also me.
I chose to present his journey to the Beibja River, and creat a work in my imaginatin of the river. The Beibja River flows through Europe's last primeval forest. It rises on the Polish-Belarusian border and flows into the Narew River. The river is surrounded by marshland.
In the five rooms over two floors of the Clages gallery space, I have showcased both the river and the marshland.
